    The Sydney Business School is the graduate school of the Faculty of Business at University of Wollongong. Our courses are delivered from campuses located at Circular Quay in Sydney and Wollongong.

    SUBJECT DESCRIPTION
    The subject addresses key issues and problems associated with managing across cultural boundaries in a context of increasing global contact. Topics include cross-cultural communication, technology, comparative management practices, managing with multicultural policies, and the challenges cultural differences pose for international managers.
    STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES
    On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
    1. Understand the major concepts, theories, and meanings of culture in the context of international business.
    2. Explain how culture influences organisational structure, strategies, and systems.
    3. Critically discuss ethics, gender equity, joint ventures, and diversity in organisations.
    4. Apply cultural theories and concepts to published cases of management in a cross-cultural context.
    UPDATES TO THIS SUBJECT
    The School is committed to continual improvement in teaching and learning. In assessing teaching and learning practices in a subject, the School takes into consideration student feedback from many sources. These sources include direct student feedback to tutors and lecturers, feedback through Student Services and Business Central, responses to the Subject and Course Evaluation Surveys.
