Assignment Overview:Lean thinking in theluxury-fashion market
 
Due to new technologies and globalization, satisfying customers is more challenging and, in order to be competitive in an ever changing marketplace,enterprises are now required to rethink their business models. New managerial paradigms, such as world class manufacturing (WCM),have emerged as effective competitive weapons for several businesses, in that theyrepresent a combination of lean practices acting as the pillars of an integrated system. Lean thinking may be a solution, but itsimplementation is challenging and applications in the luxury-fashion market are stillvery rare.
 
Accordingly, it is important to identify the key features of the luxury-fashion market that may act as barriers for the adoption of leanprinciples.
 
Instructions:
 

1. Conduct an extensive review of the literature pertaining tothe barriersto implementation of lean thinking, specifically related to the luxury-fashion sector.

 
2.    You are present realistic recommendations on which strategies/tactics a luxury-fashion supply chain manager could adopt to efficiently implement lean principles within this market.
 

3. These recommendations should be justified and supported with contemporary literature.
