    For this assignment, you need to think of a product (or service) which could be marketed inside the U.S. You need to choose a business product or service that you will use as your topic for your Marketing Plan.  Once you decide on your product/service, you may not change it. You will choose a product (such as tires) but not a brand (such as Firestone Tires). This is because you will market this product with your name.  Once you have decided on the product (which can be a good, service, or idea) you need to go to the library or Internet and do some research on the product.
    Here are some topics you need research:
    1)What companies make this product (service)?
    2)What are the common costs in this business?
    3)What are the 5 Ps (Product, Price, Promotion, Place, People) for marketing this product which you see companies using ?
    4)What regulations might apply to this product?
    5)What are the people, geography, laws, and economic factors that might affect your marketing plan.
    Your assignment should be a minimum of 3 pages with citations. Citations should be more than just Internet links. Use a written description of the source plus the Internet link or bibliographic information.  Submit your assignment through Eagle online Canvas by the deadline.  No assignments are accepted late or by email.  Type the question and then the answer.
     
    Assignment 2: Situation Analysis (Due date 10/27)
    Now that you have chosen your product/service, you need to determine how you will segment your market.  You need to research and develop answers to the questions below, based on the research you developed for your project proposal
    1)  What will the targeted population be for your product/service? 
    2) What are the ages, gender, ethnicity, income level, cultural background?
    3) What segment of that market will  you go after?
    4) How will you try to reach that market?
    5) How will you position your product against the competition?
    6) What social mores and problems could have an impact on your product and how will you position against them?
    7) What cultural factors are there that might impact your business positively or negatively? How will you adjust to overcome them?
    8 )What physical environmental factors could impact your business (such as typical weather, geographical features, severe weather, etc.)  What contingency plans will you make to adjust for that?
    Your assignment should be at least 3 pages of research and information with citations. Citations should not be just Internet links but a written explanation of the source with the link , 
     
    Assignment 3 : Strategies: Product, People and Place (Due Date 11/10)
    For this assignment, you will develop at least 2 pages minimum  of information on what your product will be --- what will be benefits, characteristics, attributes. What will the name be? Packaging? Sizes?
    Next, you will need to write at least one page on People – how you will train your own employees/service providers to deal well with customers and to avoid conflict, listen to customers and create relationships with customers so the customers will come back.
    Finally, you will develop at least 2 pages on all aspects of getting your products from your vendors and getting them to your customers. This should include information on supply chain management, as well as a clear definition of the channel of distribution for your product. It should include location, hours, web presence, etc. If your product is a service, you must think through and include everything about how you will reach your clients, get subcontractors if you need them, use the web, etc.
     
    Assignment 4:Promotion and Price (Due Date 11/12)
    First, you need to develop your plan for promotion... be sure to include all 6 components -- advertising, public relations, sales promotion, selling, social marketing and ecommerce. Make sure you cover each one thoroughly. This part of the assignment should be a minimum of 4 pages.
    Next, you need to write at least a page on pricing of your product/service. Include research on competitor’s prices and a list of real prices.
     
    Marketing Plan Project (Due date 12/1)
    Using all the assignments you have completed so far, develop a marketing plan using the format below. Be sure to make this a professional plan. It should be typed, double spaced, neat without typos or grammar problems. You will send it in via Eagle on Line CANVAS and you must send it in by the deadline. I recommend you send it by 8 p.m. so it will upload before 11 and not be rejected as late. Send it in by that time, even if it is not complete. Better to get a few points off than lose them all. Or, better yet, get it done early and send it in a day early to be sure you have no computer issues or other issues and time enough to deal with them if they arise. No plans will be accepted by email or accepted late.
