Assessment 2: Report
Task: Write a 1000 - 1500 word academic report on the topic listed on UTSOnline. Your report
should demonstrate your understanding of the topic and ability to structure academic writing
according to the conventions taught in BABC001.
Part A of assessment 2 is a detailed outline of the report. Part A is worth 10% of the overall
result for BABC001. The final report is Part B of assessment 2. Part B is worth 40% of the
overall result for BABC001.

Assessment 2: Part A – The detailed outline
A detailed outline of the report is to be submitted in Week 5B workshop. The detailed outline
needs to give a clear, concise explanation of each section of the body of the report using
bullet points, including evidence with full Harvard referencing.
Submit a hard copy of your outline to your tutor at the beginning of Workshop B in Week 5. A
soft copy of the outline must be submitted to turnitin before the start of the workshop.
Length: 2 – 4 A4 pages (typed 1.5 spacing)
Format: Detailed outline format (as described in class)
Value: Part A – The outline is worth 10% of the overall result for BABC001
Assessment 2: Part B – The final report
The final report is due in Workshop A Week 8. The report will demonstrate your
understanding of the report topic and your ability to develop a clear, concise and well
structure report. The report must be written in full paragraphs with accurate Harvard
referencing for all evidence used.
Submit a soft copy of your final report to Turnitin before your workshop and a hard copy to
your tutor at the beginning of the class in Week 8 Workshop A.

Value: Part B – The final report is worth 40% of the overall result for BABC001
Total Value: Assessment 2 (Part A and Part B) is worth 50% of the overall result for BABC001
Overall Assessment Requirements:
• You must use the compulsory reading and at least three source texts from reading list. In addition, you
will need to use your company’s annual report and at least one other text that you have sourced yourself
from UTS Library. Therefore, a minimum of six (6) sources must be included in the Detailed Outline
(Due 5B) and the Final Report (Due 8A).
• Use Harvard-style referencing.
• The report must be stapled or held together by a metal clip with the appropriate cover page signed at the front.
No plastic sleeves or folders will be accepted.
• Use 11 or 12 point Arial, Verdana, or Calibri font.
• Use 1.5 spacing and at least 3cm page margins.

Your assignment must be free of plagiarism and be written by yourself without assistance. (Assistance includes help
with grammar and vocabulary.)
Late assignments may not be accepted unless there are exceptional circumstances and/or you make arrangements in writing with
the tutor before the due date. Late submissions, if accepted, will incur a penalty, please refer to the BABC001 subject outline for
details.
If your Outline receives a pass grade or higher, the grade is final. Your tutor will explain why you were awarded the
grade, but cannot change it. If you receive a fail, you can ask your tutor to request a regrade arrangement through the
BABC001 Subject Coordinator. The second grade is final.
